Cook Lounge - Michael Schmidt
`The kitchen is the heart of the home´ - Single rooms tend to melt together in the modern world. They conjoin into bigger rooms and give way to generous spaces where friendship and communication can unfold in an unrestricted and creative way. The “grounding kitchen” is a place where taste, well-being, architecture and open space are floating together. It’s a movement towards more social live or in other words cocooning in a crowd.

We designed a kitchen with inspiring impulses, so living, lounging and cooking can be celebrated in one room: guests and potatoe-peeling, gossip and coffee-clatsch, childrens homework and chicken broth, stock exchange and good wine. The centerpiece of the kitchen is a multifunctional piece of furniture which can handle any situation in daily life in the field of cooking, eating living and grounding. It can change its appearance turning from a monoblock into a stylish sideboard, from a state of the art piece of furniture into a kitchen stove and sink with an adjustable table, having an integrated warm-keeping plate in the middle, you can create an relaxing lounge area. All the things you need for preparing a good meal are integrated, from a boiler plate to the microwave-oven, including a barbecue and even a dish-washer.
