2007 Italdesign Giugiaro Vadho Concept
Published by square. March 27th, 2007For a design firm like Giugiaro’s Italdesign, it must get tiring to send beautiful vehicles out into the world with another company’s badge adorning the grille. That’s where cars like this Vadhò concept come into play. Italdesign technicians designed the chassis of this concept from the ground up, and the swoopy body wears a big red “G” proudly on the front bumper, just as future models will–it’s Giugiaro’s new signature. The Vadhò’s tandem two-person cabin and the white stripe going the length of its black body make the car look like Speed Racer’s worst nightmare, and it’s semi-exposed hydrogen engine is straight out of that futuristic cartoon, too. The tandem cabin draws its inspiration from aeronautics, so it makes sense that inside, the steering wheel is replaced by two joysticks planted on the driver’s seat armrests. Giugiaro is ahead of its time with this slick and efficient concept, and we can’t wait for the day when production vehicles look this futuristic.
