Virtual Cable
Published by Anwar December 20th, 2007Satellite navigation technology looks set to get more interesting. Making Virtual Solid has unveiled plans for Virtual Cable, they say the display will project your route directly on to the windscreen.
There is no longer a need for a sat-nav display, you simply look at your windscreen and watch for the 3D red line emanating from the top of it.

This is like something out of the Need For Speed Underground or GTA games, where you follow an arrow that adjusts in relation to the position of your target destination, but it’s even easier to follow than trying to drive diagonally through ‘china’ town!
I really like the technology involved, to be able to put the “cable line” onto the windscreen is very ingenious. I just hope like you say that there aren’t any speedng cars following the lines! It does seem very somilar to what you see in video games now though where they give you the best race line to drive on.
I’m not sure about this line thing, why can’t we just stick to sat navs?
What’s the world coming too….
