Vibe Freestyle Sofa

vibe_freestyle_sofa.jpg

Inspired by informal office meetings and breakout areas, the design of the Vibe Freestyle Lounge brings much needed utility to commercial designer seating. The key features of the design are the wide, flat armrests, which are the perfect height for laptop use, and the space optimizing storage shells within the arms. These storage shells are available lined with wood veneer, or fabric. By combining different finishes on the body and shells, specifiers are offered unlimited creativity to customize Freestyle’s look to their needs and vision. The freestyle lounge is available in 2, 2.5 and 3 seat configurations.

A new rug that lights up when you step on it could be the future of floor fashion, not to mention of nocturnal home safety. As if a glowing runway, the electroluminescent flooring could keep you from stubbing your toe during a groggy trek to the bathroom, guide you to the bedroom after a late-night out and even replace a child’s conventional nightlight. “The glow that the rug emits is very soft,” said co-inventor Leona Dean, of London South Bank University, who also noted the innovation’s party applications, “It can provide ambient mood lighting or flash in time to music as a talking point at a party.”

Small ideas will change life habits. It is possible to instill the habit of energy saving by removing plugs by reminding people of an image of waste and safety when they see the plug. Unlike the conventional plugs, it has a decorative value. Therefore, it can be exposed rather than hidden and instill the habit of energy saving and safety. One of the easiest ways to prevent global warming is removing plugs that are not in use.

Electrolux Inspiro

inspiro.jpg

Electrolux is launching a revolutionary new oven called Inspiro, the first oven that thanks to a breakthrough heat management technique automatically selects the right heating mode based on the contents of the oven. Rather than just measuring the air temperature with a thermometer and regulating it with a thermostat, the way a conventional oven operates, Inspiro uses sensors to calculate the precise combination of energy consumption and time needed to bring the food to the correct temperature. This is similar to the way cameras now automatically set aperture, exposure time and focus, depending on the light and what’s in the frame.
